£11 Billion from Cannabis

In bed, this morning, I read a report on cannabis in The Observer. It stated that cannabis users may put £11 billion pounds into the UK economy, with their need for take-away food, snacks, home entertainment and Red Bull, amongst many other things!
However, what really made me chuckle was the following comment - which I have lifted from The Observer site.
“However, manufacturers such as Imperial Tobacco still insist that their ‘King Size’ Rizla cigarette papers are intended solely for making handmade cigarettes rather than rolling joints.”
Yeah, right, and chocolate isn’t fattening!

Football
Today was a good day, on the football front. It was only spoiled by the fact that the Manc Scum had to attend his mothers birthday, rather than spending the afternoon in the pub with me! They were going horse-riding! Last week it was clay pigeon shooting. As our friend remarked last Thursday, “when are you taking up fox hunting?”. We live in a small, basically urban gene puddle. This sudden interest in outdoor, country pursuits is somewhat worrying.
Anyway, back to the point. Today I enjoyed a victory by my beloved team. I know that West Ham, at present aren’t exactly top flight opposition. Regardless, it was a win - something that has been sadly lacking of late.
One thing that did make me chuckle was this report on the BBC Sport website, in which Houllier offers to give Roeder advice! Run, Glen, run for the hills - your career may depend on it.

You may have guessed that I like football. However, even I know that naming your first born after your team, regardless of the sex is taking things a little far!
It goes without saying that the guy is Welsh!

I know how “un-hip” this is about to make me. However, can someone please explain the attraction of The Office to me?
Perhaps its just that I don’t like cringe-humour (a la Frank Spencer), but the few minutes of The Office that I have seen just left me cold.
Answers on a postcard!

Sad to hear on the radio yesterday afternoon of the loss of the Columbia space shuttle.
I hate things like this. Not only because of the loss of life, which is obviously bad enough, but I get completely addicted to BBC News 24, Sky News, CNN, NBC and the like (curse digital multi-channel TV). I remember in the aftermath of September 11, not leaving the TV, during my “leisure time”, for two days. In the end the other half made me turn it off. It was just so depressing.
The other half has speculated how much time I will spend watching news programmes when (oh, sorry, if) we go to war in Iraq. I’m kind of betting at least five hours a night. It may drive himself to drink!
My Boyfriend is a Twat

Today, thanks to Vodkabird and Troubled Diva, I found a new blog to visit. It’s called My Boyfriend is a Twat. It is very funny, and the content mirrors the title. In other words, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
My other half has, from time to time had to work with people from Belgium. Now, I’m really trying not to stereotype an entire nation here, but he’s never got on with them. It was one of the few times he’d arrive home from work and rant. There was one bloke with particularly poor personal hygenie. That was the end for the other half. Now all Belgians are tarred with the same brush. His favourite line is “Name a famous Belgian? Hercule f***ing Poirot! And even he’s fictional”.
Me on the other hand, I have no problems with any one - well, not really…
