Just a really brief one. Got my results from the OU today - as did the Other Half.

He’s got another year to go - but is holding steady at a 2:1/2:2. Me, on the other hand, it was my final year. I’ve got a distinction this year, meaning I’ll graduate with a 2:1!!! Yeah!!!

I’m off to celebrate with a flapjack and cup of coffee! What it is to be detoxing when you get good news!

Politicans are being warned about the dangers to the sewerage system of the increase in fat ending up down the drain following traditional Christmas lunches. The report suggests that there is a “..25% increase in the amount of fat ending up down the drain.” Eugh!

However, if you are indulging in some form of meat over the Christmas period (we’ve decided on an Indian take-away Chez Moi), you may want to take the following advice and help our feathered friends..

“..fat with high nutritional content, such as lamb and beef suet, can be mixed with seeds, food scraps and dried fruit and hung outside for garden birds.”

Apparently, Mad World is now 2-1 with the bookies. I live in hope - although I have a nasty feeling about The Darkness!

It means nothing, but in less than a week the Christmas number one will be announced. The latest odds were released today.

When I was younger, there was always a real sense of anticipation around the Christmas number one - seeing whether someone had managed to knock Cliff off the top spot. Now, well, there’s no excitement at all, really. A bunch of reality TV show wannabes are tipped for the top, doing something dreadful to a song nearly as old as me. The Other Half has gone for Avid Merrion’s “Proper Crimbo”. I don’t get the whole Bo Selecta humour, but if you do, I’m sure you’ll love this.

Me, well, I reckon Mad World just about sums up life.

Bah Humbug!!!

Am back! No, really. Have had a little over a week off work - and blogging - to do Christmas shopping, parcel wrapping, card writing - you know, the normal stuff. Also found the time to go out, get drunk and fall over a few times.

Have also given up smoking. I’m on day 6. I might get very sarcastic at points, but other than one near spat with the Other Half at the weekend, I think I’m doing really well. Am also de-toxing this week in preparation for the over-consumption that is Christmas. So, that’ll be no coffee, no alcohol and plenty of good food - vegetables and fruit. Some of you may be noticing a trend here.
