Tea strainer prevents strokes.
Sometimes it’s the simplest of ideas.
As a result of my increased sofa sitting, I’ve discovered the Channel 4 drama Shameless. Based in Manchester it is the story of a family and their friends.
The next door neighbour in the story, Veronica, is played by Maxine Peake (Twinkle in Dinnerladies). The Other Half and I have been trying to work out whether or not it was the same person for the last couple of weeks. It is - and boy has she lost some weight.
With my expanding waistline (depiste Aqua Natal classes), I’m SO jealous. Ah well…
Polish youth break-dance for the Pope. Is it just me, or does this feel about 20 years too late? I’m sure the last time I saw someone spin on their head it was in the 1980’s.
Or, have I missed another revival?
It’s always wonderful to see a friend doing well.
Congratulations Em!!
Via Adrian who does this in shortened form;
The wonderful Mil Millington (who I met, briefly, last year skulking at the bar during a party, sipping what looked like water and who may, and I really do only mean may, have left a message over Christmas on my mobile phone answering machine at the request of a mutual friend) on why he will never sleep with Alyson Hannigan.
Priceless
I was reading the following on BBC News on-line and for one moment thought the title of the new “Meet the Parents” film was going to have trouble passing the censors.
“Dustin Hoffman is to play Ben Stiller’s father in Meet the Fockers, the sequel to 2000’s comedy hit Meet the Parents. As with the original, Jay Roach will be in the director’s chair, while Robert de Niro, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo will also reprise their previous roles. The sequel sees fresh trouble for Greg (Stiller) and Pam (Polo) when her tense parents meet his relaxed ones. Hoffman, who won Oscars for Rain Man and Kramer vs Kramer, last worked with de Niro in the 1997 satire Wag The Dog.”
Is it just me?
As some of you are based in London, I thought you may be interested in the following anouncement on the Wales @ Westminster weblog:
Mind blogging

Political weblogs seem to be catching on. The all-party parliamentary group for e-democracy is opening an inquiry into MPs and blogging later this month. Speakers at the first meeting include Tony Benn and Tom Watson, whose weblog is the best-known of those written by MPs.
The public are being encouraged to participate in the debate, which will focus on how blogging affects issues of accountability and connection with citizens.
The Hansard Society is administering the group. The first public meeting takes place at 1730 BST on January 27 in Portcullis House, Westminster. All welcome.
BBC News report on the best ever Simpsons episodes.
Just something to make you giggle if you’re bored!
Purely because this was said to me sarcastically, a scan photo is now available on the gallery.
